Aimee and Joyce packed 411 gift bags for the students at Colonial Hills Elementary School including jump ropes, bubble wands, stuffed animals, Skinny Pop popcorn, fruit snacks, and granola bars. Pete, Aimee, Braydon, and Hailey helped load the 20 boxes of gifts and deliver them to the school over Thanksgiving break. They will be given out the last week of school in December and because of your generosity as well as that of Wayside Chapel and Children’s Hunger Fund, children will be blessed! We are thankful you partnered with us!
47 children ages 0 through 18 from 19 families at Kerrybrook Apartments were signed up for Christmas gifts! We have been blessed through your gifts to make wonderfully personalized bags for each child. In addition, they will each receive a $10 gift card to McDonalds, and their families will receive a $50 gift card to HEB. Please be in prayer that families will feel the love of God on delivery day, Dec. 12.
We are planning our first meeting of Teen Time since March on November 18.
We were able to give $30 Whataburger gift cards to all forty-eight households at Kerrybrook Apartments when they paid their rent at the beginning of October. This was done in partnership with Wayside Chapel. These dear families were surprised when they dropped off their rent payments and received this special gift waiting for them at the Kerrybrook office. Many expressed thanks.
Our dear friend Jan Kuhn went to be with the LORD on Saturday, September 19. When staff at Colonial Hills Elementary heard of Jan’s passing, several wrote notes. Following are two of the kind notes written.
“Oh no! Thank you so much for letting me know. I am so sorry to hear that and I will definitely keep her family in my prayers.”
Pete, and Joyce delivered school supplies on August 8th. It was a true blessing to see, speak with, pray for, and encourage these dear ones as they came to pick up their school supplies. We look forward to continuing to minister at Colonial Hills Elementary, SAMM, and Kerrybrook Apartments this fall. Pray for continued good health of all who come together to serve or be served during this still uncertain time. We are grateful and trusting our great and awesome God!
August 1st, Aimee and I set up and packed school supplies with her kiddos and husband, Braydon, Hailey, and Matt. Families were very appreciative for this encouragement when we handed them out August 8th. THANK YOU for giving toward supplies and please be in prayer for student, teacher, and family safety as they return to school. Please pray that students will read the Bibles and devotional materials selected especially for them and that God will draw them to Himself.
We’re so glad to be working and serving as God directs. Aimee and Joyce have made 95 masks for the staff of Colonial Hills to give with personal hand sanitizers at the beginning of the school year. Aimee was also contacted by some school staff to make personal masks of their choice. We did a Back-to-School Breakfast on August 13th for all Colonial Hills staff. It has been good staying in touch with school personnel during the summer. Regrettably, we will not be able to start Kids Club or on campus volunteering just yet but eagerly anticipate the time we will be allowed to be back on
