Our dear friend Jan Kuhn went to be with the LORD on Saturday, September 19. When staff at Colonial Hills Elementary heard of Jan’s passing, several wrote notes. Following are two of the kind notes written.
“Oh no! Thank you so much for letting me know. I am so sorry to hear that and I will definitely keep her family in my prayers.”
Pete, and Joyce delivered school supplies on August 8th. It was a true blessing to see, speak with, pray for, and encourage these dear ones as they came to pick up their school supplies. We look forward to continuing to minister at Colonial Hills Elementary, SAMM, and Kerrybrook Apartments this fall. Pray for continued good health of all who come together to serve or be served during this still uncertain time. We are grateful and trusting our great and awesome God!
August 1st, Aimee and I set up and packed school supplies with her kiddos and husband, Braydon, Hailey, and Matt. Families were very appreciative for this encouragement when we handed them out August 8th. THANK YOU for giving toward supplies and please be in prayer for student, teacher, and family safety as they return to school. Please pray that students will read the Bibles and devotional materials selected especially for them and that God will draw them to Himself.
We’re so glad to be working and serving as God directs. Aimee and Joyce have made 95 masks for the staff of Colonial Hills to give with personal hand sanitizers at the beginning of the school year. Aimee was also contacted by some school staff to make personal masks of their choice. We did a Back-to-School Breakfast on August 13th for all Colonial Hills staff. It has been good staying in touch with school personnel during the summer. Regrettably, we will not be able to start Kids Club or on campus volunteering just yet but eagerly anticipate the time we will be allowed to be back on
A HUGE thank you goes to Dianne Wendt who has been with One Way International since the inception of our Colonial Hills Elementary Ministry. She was our first Teacher Encouragement Team Leader, worked with Kids Clubs at both Colonial Hills and Kerrybrook Apartments, and was always available to help get school supplies and Gifts of Love prepared for packing which was a week long, hour upon hour commitment for each event. She and her husband Stan, helped Homer in many “behind the scenes” needs and never said “No,” when we called her and said, “Dianne, can you do or
We will register students in late June and plan to purchase supplies on line this year. We invite you to participate in providing those supplies through a donation noted: “School Supplies.” Please prayerfully consider if that would be a way you could “enthusiastically serve the Lord,” knowing that “nothing you ever do for the Lord is useless.”
“So my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 New Living Translation
We had the wonderful opportunity of serving the entire staff of Colonial Hills Elementary a drive by pick up lunch provided by Bar-B-Q Station during Teacher Appreciation Week. It was well received and the staff went out of their way to thank us for the caring gesture.
“Thank you for this beautiful meal! Love you and miss you dearly!”
“Hi, today’s lunch was delicious! Not even a morsel was left. Chicken had a good taste—smoked—no need for BBQ sauce.”
“Thank you to all who made this possible! It was delicious and worth the drive!”
